Tithing Elements

Why does wind howl?
Is your voice in its hollow?
Why does it whisper,
calling hearts to follow?

Why do the tides reach for the moon?
Dancing, they beg and plead,”Yours? Soon?”

The stars pass by, just like every night,
and the seas let them play inside.

The sun warms a beach where a fine soul might lay.
But restless and wound up – winds and seas – two spirits ran away.

The wind stopped just after the rain got in -
a deadly calm for an insolent limb.

Covered with two hands and bound with whit,
the sun lost his calling and forgot to be lit.

Thus, the moon went dim, and the beach went dry.
The waters sought low ground and thought,”it’s just too high.”
